गुरुपौर्णिमा (व्यासपूजन)

 मायेच्या भवसागरातून शिष्याला आणि भक्ताला अलगदपणे बाहेर काढणारे, त्याच्याकडून आवश्यक ती साधना करवून घेणारे आणि कठीण समयी त्याला अत्यंत जवळिकीने अन् निरपेक्ष प्रेमाने आधार देऊन संकटमुक्त करणारे हे गुरुच असतात. अशा परमपूजनीय गुरुंप्रती कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करण्याचा दिवस म्हणजे गुरुपौर्णिमा. प्रस्तुत लेखात आपण गुरुपौर्णिमेचे महत्त्व तसेच हा उत्सव साजरा करण्याची पद्धत पहाणार आहोत.

तिथी

         गुरुपौर्णिमा हा उत्सव सर्वत्र आषाढ पौर्णिमा या दिवशी साजरा केला जातो. (तामिळ प्रदेशात व्यासपूजा ज्येष्ठ पौर्णिमेस साजरा करतात.)

उद्देश

         गुरु म्हणजे ईश्वराचे सगुण रूप ! वर्षभर प्रत्येक गुरु आपल्या भक्तांना अध्यात्माचे बोधामृत भरभरून देत असतात. त्या गुरूंच्या प्रती अनन्य भावाने कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करणे, हा गुरुपौर्णिमा साजरा करण्यामागील उद्देश आहे.

महत्त्व

१. गुरुपौर्णिमा या शुभदिनी दिवशी गुरुतत्त्व (ईश्वरी तत्त्व) नेहमीच्या तुलनेत १ सहस्र (हजार) पटीने कार्यरत असते. त्यामुळे गुरुपौर्णिमेच्या निमित्ताने केलेली सेवा आणि त्याग (सत्साठी अर्पण) यांचा इतर दिवसांच्या तुलनेत १ सहस्र पटीने लाभ होतो; म्हणून गुरुपौर्णिमा ही गुरुकृपेची (ईश्वरकृपेची) एक अनमोल पर्वणीच आहे.
